Wow. How beautiful, Lesley! Montreal is certainly on my (long) list of places to visit.
Your seminar on Copyright law must have been really fascinating - I know what you mean when you say that you've discovered how much more there is to know. I'm told this is one of the fastest-evolving branches of law at the moment, as it struggles to keep up with technological advances and to provide protection for artists' and writers' intellectual property.
You sound like a seriously smart cookie, and a positive, hard-working and deserving one too.
Margie - you're absolutely right about how these laws are ever-evolving. Luckily for you, Australia is one of the more organized countries on this topic - unlike Canada.
Yeah, I got the serious side to me, but my sister Dale got the smart side.
AM - I agree. Montreal is a wonderful vacation destination for anyone looking for a unique cultural, recreational and relaxing adventure with some night life thrown in for good measure.
Thankfully I'm in Toronto for the next little while until Thanksgiving when I go out to Kananaskis for a conference and visit Dale on the same ticket.
It's quite rich in architecture, it's a damn shame that some citys choose to pull down such fine buildings and replace them with modern tat.. brilliant pics!..
Beautiful photos! I have never been to Montreal. It looks like it has a bit of old world mixed with the new. It is a beautiful city! One of these days, I am going to travel the world.
Thanks for the view! I love looking at pictures. Have a great weekend!
I really like Montreal, even though I only got a few short hours to enjy it! It is wonderful you were able to go back and revel with the warmth of good memories. Too often we let the not so good ones mire us down, and I think the surest way to combat that is to envelope ourselves in happy ones. Gorgeous pics! :)
I'm with Gyps on the modern tat thing, especially where beautiful old buildings are sacfificed to make room for it, but good modern architecture is special. What's that amazing structure in the last pic? It looks like a stadium with one huge sculptural lighting tower. Pretty speccy!
For Margie and those others who don't know - that big structure in the last picture is indeed a stadium. It's the Olympic Stadium, which was used for the 1976 Montreal Olympics. It looks fabulous, but sadly less can be said about the cost among other things.
Passionate about music/singing and travel. I’ve travelled to 30+ countries on shoe-string budgets, lived in France, trained my voice and sing: jazz, rock and classical. Love each one for their differences and challenges.
Today much of my learning comes from travelling and appreciating cultures. I believe all should travel to see how others live elsewhere. While we have different faiths, foods etc., essentially we’re the same. Peace to us all!

Nice shots of a very fun city. I would recommend a trip to Montreal to anyone- people are so friendly, and there is a great nightlife.
Are you back for good, or do you need to head out again?
xx

The city skyline looks much the same as when I lived there...so many years ago.
It sounds like Montreal awoke a bit on nostalgia for your...
er...for you.

PS: Are we really organized? Wow. Not sure how that happened!

My dad was at the montreal olympics, and loved the city.
