This Sunday, Canada will be celebrating its 140th anniversary of Confederation.
It is therefore a holiday for all of us "Canucks" on Monday
I will be heading up to the mountains in Quebec (the largest province above in blue, travelling from the second largest province in beige) to spend some time with family and friends.
No doubt, I will enjoy some of what Canada is well known for
I hope everyone has a great week-end!

Have a terrific Canada day Lesley. Just as a matter of interest, the provinces to the east of Quebec are Newfoundland, Nova Scotia and..?? I know I could look it up but it's more fun if you tell me! I never realised New Foundland was so far north before. Thanks for the map and for putting it in perspective for me!
Enjoy the celebrations dear xx
The others are New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island, which is just a little blue sliver north of the Green representing New Brunswick and Gold representing Nova Scotia.

Well thankyou for the info on the thousand island dressing, i never thought it actually came from there..its lovely stuff..
Have a great time, my dear! We're painting the town red. Well, not the town, but the bedroom.
See you in two weeks.

AM
I'll be drinking a cool, crisp glacier-fresh Kokanee...
Brewed right here in the Kootenays.
While watching the ever-growing ever-amazing fireworks show over the lake at midnight on June 30th.
It's only Friday and Calgary has already taken over...
ah yes, mayo and ketchup...
Happy weekend to you. You Canuck, you! I had no idea how to spell that, thank you.
take care ,,,xx
Lesley!
I heard from Val that it was you who sent me a copy of her wonderful book!
THANK YOU!
You're a sweetie.
I am now glad that I wasn't able to read it on her blog...
A belated but very happy Canada Day to you! Hope you didn't overdo the amber fluid, but celebrated serenely and with decorum. As we do.
Dale, that Kokanee ... makes me smile. No idea what it tastes like, but as a name, it certainly beats Fosters Lager or Victoria Bitter! Mind you, some English beers would give it a run for its money in the name department: Old Speckled Hen springs to mind.
Happy Canada Day weekend to you! I know a girl at work who had a tattoo of the provincial flowers for the 10 provinces done all around her right side. If that isn't patriotism, I don't know what is. *L*
Dale, credit where it's due!...and your sister is a honey!
Lesley! Hope you had tons of fun!
I had a fundraiser bbq at the beach July 1 during the Mountain Mosaic Festival, and had on a little temporary tattoo of a maple leaf on my upper arm... of course, I forgot sunscreen, and so I now have a mild burn with a pale maple leaf spot where the tattoo was! I don't think I could quite do all the provincial flowers, but a teeny maple leaf, maybe.
Have a wonderful time in Quebec, Lesley.
Looking forward to see those pictures too.
A belated thanks for your good wishes!
